AUDIOPAX Maggiore L50 Pre Amp

The audio path travels through a single stage that uses only one active Mosfet device working entirely without negative feedback (as in the entire Maggiore line). This ensures full playback integrity.

The refined power supply in this pre amplifier is the key to it’s performance. There are two 240V DC sources of power supply (very rare in a solid state amplifier) with circuits to control the spectrum of distortion, making this pre amplifier the perfect choice for obtaining synergy with other components in any system. This is an implementation of Audiopax’s unique Timbre Lock® concept.

A further innovation incorporated within the Maggiore L50 is the use of inductive charging giving higher instant current capacity (twice that obtained with traditional resistive loads) resulting in dynamics that can only be described as visceral and rarely attained by any other pre-amplifier on the market.

The components used in the Maggiore line of products are selected with extreme care, all the transformers and inductors employed in load situations are designed and constructed exclusively for these products; always using the best lamination and wires and only selected after years of research and testing. Each capacitor and resistor is selected for it’s specific function, ranging from delicate foil Vishay resistors used for the input signal stages to the specific series of Nichicon capacitor for clarity in their supply sources.

For several years Audiopax has used the best coupling capacitors in the world (E.G. V-cap CuTF or Duelund CAST-Pius Cu) but advanced further by developing their own unique series of capacitors in collaboration with Jupiter Condensers, one of the main manufacturers of capacitors for the high-end market, taking two years of continuous effort to achieve the best performance possible. Additionally, after several years of research and experimentation, a unique dual cryogenic process is applied to several of the components.

The result of so many innovations is a product with extended frequency response, exceptional resolution at low levels, huge immunity to load variations and incomparable dynamics, gathering together in a single piece of equipment, the best of topologies in solid state and valve amplification.

The Audiopax L50 once again redefines the role of a pre-amplifier, reaching the concept of “synergy” in a direct and controllable way between the components and adding transparency, dynamics and musicality to any system.

Extreme care is taken in choosing components by selecting from the best suppliers of components for high-end equipment. (As with all products of the Maggiore line) All the transformers and inductors used in their amplifiers and pre-amplifiers are designed and constructed exclusively for Audiopax, using the best lamination and wires selected after years of research and testing. Each capacitor and resistor is selected for its specific function, from delicate terminating resistors (foil Vishay) for the signal input stages to the special series of Nichicon capacitors. Additionally after several years of research and experimentation, a unique dual process criogenic treatment is applied to several components.

The Maggiore L50 was present at the Munich High End show and T.H.E. Show Newport 2015 and these rooms were considered as the best at these events by several sites/specialist publications (as the Audiostream and Absolute Sound). Soon after these events he won the 6 Moons our second “Blue Moon Award” (the first was granted to Model 88), with a great emphasis on the unique timbre Control Lock®, which allows easy integration with any system. which was described as “the guarantee against boredom preamp”.
